F40 freezes on splash screen
(1/1)
sinnin32:
I installed the current build on wednesday of last week and when I reboot it freezes up on the splash screen. When I plug in the F40 thru USB nothing happens, ive turned the battery off and then rebooted and still nothing happens. What can I do to fix this?
Llorean:
Did you update the bootloader as was recently required? Or, specifically, when did you last install a bootloader (FWIMG01.DAT)?
sinnin32:
I originally installed rockbox about 3 months or so ago. About a week ago I downloaded and extracted the most recent build into the gigabeat folder. Thats when it started to freeze on the splash screen
Llorean:
So you need to update the bootloader. When you turn on the device, immediately hold the Menu button once you see the toshiba loading bar, and continue holding it until you're in "Recovery Mode". Then, plug in a USB cable (do not use the cradle) and follow the Bootloader Installation instructions in the manual.
