make sure your hold is off (try switching it on and back again); booting with hold on will cause it to boot the apple OS.

Also make sure you've properly installed the rockbox bootloader via the DOS prompt.

Finally, make sure that you're not using a custom build which is designed to boot the Apple firmware by default.

i tried to booting it with the hold switch off and i don't have the slightese idea on how to check if it is installed properly via DOS, i installed rockbox through this site http://www.kreator666.gabeandco.info/rockbox/documentation.html

You should probably use the installation procedure from this site.  I'm not sure what that installer does.

Check out the manual.  It will tell you how to do things like choosing new themes and new fonts and other such useful things.  :)

That installer is heavily outdated and, AFAIK, not maintained by its creator anymore.

Unofficial installers are what the name says: unofficial. You use them on your own risk, and they won't be supported here.

thanks guys..but the reason why i use the program from that site is because i tried to download and run the rockbox on my 30GB 5G ipod video i was not able to find .rockbox folder on my DAP (disk mode), even though on the computer say that installition is complete!.. but when i downloaded and run the program from Kreator's site, it placed a .rockbox folder on my DAP but it was not able to boot up to rockbox.. then i run the rockbox software from this sites and presto!.. out came rockbox on my ipod screen!
