Need a suggestion for gigabeat f40 protection!

hello rockboxer,

i live in germany and the gigabeat f-series is not so popular here. therefore not much accessories are offered in the shops or at ebay.de. i want to know how can i protect my player and foremost the display. if it is possible a cheap solution is preferred. silicon skin or something else.

for display protection the german ebay offers display lamination sheets cutted for ipod video. is the ipod video screen at the same size as the gigabeat f-series so that i can use this one?

Hi there.  The gigabeat F is generally an unpopular player, so there aren't many accessories for it, anywhere in the world.

My F20 has its screen protected by a thin film designed for a Palm, which I had to cut in order to fit it in.  The iPod video's screen is slightly larger than the gigabeat F's, so you will need to trim it a bit for it to work.  Generally, any screen protector will do, it's just a matter it making it fit.  Cheap solution, does the job well.

If you are going to have the player in a case - who cares if the screen protector is larger than the screen?  It will be hidden by the case.

I bought a leather case for the S30 or something, and it fits almost perfectly, I just needed to trim the sides so the buttons would so.
