Begging for new features never works... If you want things to happen faster, the only way is to contribute in some way. If you can't contribute, just sit tight and wait.

It has been said many times before, and now I'm saying it again:

It will be done when it's done!

Thank you, but that still doesn't necessitate the devs immediately jumping onto what you want done instead of what they prioritise.  Rockbox is written entirely in people's spare time whilst they still have jobs, families etc.  There is a new version of the H3x0 bootloader in the works written by LinusN, but he is a very busy man, with many commitments.  When he gets time to not only complete it, but also to thoroughly test it, the new bootloader will be released.  As the only part of Rockbox that goes in flash rom, it is the only bit of Rockbox that could brick your player.  Consequently I'm sure you wouldn't want it rushed out but would rather a properly tested official version were released.

I appreciate the behaviour you describe is annoying, but Rockbox is a free open source piece of software, and as such people work on what they have the time and inclination for, not what other people want.  You are always free to use the original firmware.

I'm not complaning. I certainly appreciate what rockbox team has done so far. specially gapless flac playback.
I didn't have this issue with H140 though and I was very happy but unfortunately I fried it after I plugged in the wrong adapter  :'(

The H140 is a different player with (some) different hardware.  Patience, it will happen.
