Help with "frozen" Ipod (5th Gen.)

(1/1)

peter122:
I just installed rockbox and was exploring its capabilities.  I decided to checkout the dual boot feature.  I turned off the Ipod, turned it on and immediately pressed the “hold” switch (section 3.1.2 of the manual).  I now have a bright Apple icon displayed and no combination of key presses will get the Ipod to do anything.  I sure would like it to turn off at least.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Squid267:
Turn on hold then turn hold off then hold menu and select till it resets.

I recently had one or two of these occurrences recently, too. If your situation is drastic, you can always reset the iPod using these instructions from Apple. This is a last-ditch fix in case all else fails; you'd have to load your library again from scratch.

That is wrong.  Putting the iPod into Disk Mode does NOT cause you to have to load your library again.
