Update Now draining my battery
« on: April 27, 2007, 03:58:45 PM »
Hi, new here.

I did a few searches to see if anything like this was discussed already but didn't find anything...

I have an iriver H320 so I'm assuming this is the place to post problems?

I just got a used unit, formatted it and loaded it up with the daily build from 4/27/07 along with 1.30E Iriver firmware.  I loaded about 650 songs into it right off the bat and decided to create a database from them.  Went to the settings location, chose update now and then poked around the menus (still learning Rockbox).  About 5 minutes in the thing just shuts off.  When I restart the battery shows as dead and is flashing.

Is there something else I had to set before attempting to create this database?

This probably belongs somewhere else.

Sorry.

Please move to the appropriate forum, I can't delete and reenter.

Thanks.

It could just be a dud battery. Do you know how old the player or battery was before you bought it and how often it was used? This could be a major factor before considering the database.

I say this, as 1) you can't find anyone else reporting this problem and, 2) it doesn't drain my battery that much when updating my database. I did it 2 or 3 days ago, use it about 2 hours a day and haven't had to recharge yet (on 30%).

I'm def. no expert and basing my answer on personal use and from previous posts and prob.s
