Is there a reason for reset after charging?

For example, with my iPod it turns on after it has lost contact with the USB port. Whether it be from disconnection or computer being shutoff. My problem happens when I am charging my iPod, and I turn off the computer and leave the room. The iPod resets and begins playing music (I have it set to continue playback on startup) thus killing the battery the rest of the night. Is there some type of safe guard or anything here I am missing that makes this feature valuable? Or is it something that cannot be changed simply because it is done in disk mode?
Yotto:
I'm pretty sure that the ipod turning on when you disconnect is a feature of Apple's firmware, considering you're IN Apple's firmwaer when it turns off.
I think the solution is to turn off autoplay on start, or remember to manually shut off your ipod when you turn off the computer. I'd go for the first one, as I think hitting the play button is less work than recharging the battery every morning.
Llorean:
Another solution is to charge in the full Apple firmware, rather than their Disk Mode, as that mode won't restart.

My only problem here is that I have a hard time doing the hard shut down. It isnt your problem or anything rockbox, but it isnt a great solution for me.
I guess there isn't anything we can do here. Thanks.
