Twilight, important update (320x240x24)
« on: January 23, 2007, 11:20:41 PM »
The theme is done and is now up on the wiki. Go give it a look, see if you like it.

These three are old images, and they may not be up to date, but not a lot has changed in the final version. In fact, the only visible difference between these and the final version is the size of the battery and volume icons.

Each of the backdrops are edits of images found on DeviantArt. Here's the first one, here's the second, and here's the third.

To save my breath, or rather, my fingers, I'll just link to the place on the wiki where you can find it. Go west.

Comments and criticism, please. :)

It doesn't work like that, Moritz.

From the Posting Guidelines:

Quote
This is NOT a WPS gallery, and WPSes should not be attached to your posts. Instead post them in the appropriate place in the wiki. Attached WPSes will be deleted.

It will go on the Wiki when the author is happy with it.

Thanks for your comments. I'm not gonna put it in the wiki until I have a center version and right version done.

I'd like to revisit that .png file thing for a bit... I'm not sure how to describe what I'm talking about... But the Back WPS for Gigabeat looked like it had translucent windows that got applied over the current backdrop. That would make my WPS look really nice (only with Scrolling Margins, though. It would look bad for the text to go off of the window), so before I do any further work, can I have some confirmation that it is or isn't possible?

hi,

translucency were nice, but its a fake. :(
this is just a background with all the translucent boxes on it ... saved as bmp.

Huh. That's a bummer. :-\

I tried using a bmp and placing it as a normal image, but it just covered up all the text. I had the idea of refreshing my Visual Basic knowledge and making a program that would apply the necessary graphical changes to the image and save it in the right places and in the right format, but that wouldn't work very well unless there was a variable made for cfg files that WPS's could use. I don't think that's possible. What's more, I'm not sure I'm capable of making such a program.

Oh well... I'll get started on the center version and right version. Anything special I need to do, other then registering in the Wiki, in order to post my WPS?

very nice themes, I really like the layout of the wps. Would be better with Album Art, but I guess that would detract from the Background, right?
Very Nice job ;D

Thank you very much.

I actually was considering the album art... If I were to move the center area down, there'd be room for album art. It wouldn't look too bad. I'm starting to miss my album art anyways, so I was considering doing that sooner or later.

I'm posting with an update to the theme, that should fix any problems that may have been caused by recent changes. Scrolling Margins' behavior was changed, so I had to fix it, and I had to fix the date thing too.

Please tell me if it works. I won't upload it unless someone confirms that it does.

I've made LOTS of changes recently, but they're definitely not ready to be released yet. This is only to fix the current downloadable version of Twilight.

The new release works for me with one addition (same with the older Twilight).

I need to add a closing "|" to the end of the playback position bar to get it to display at the right width.

Otherwise, it works fine.

This is on a iPod 5G running EvilG's newest build as of this date, EvilG-Ice-30G-200704016
