Can't get MPEG thing to work
(1/1)
JungleJim:
So I wanted to put a little video (Stargate :D Not sure if it would fit, but what the hey, might as well try) on my iRiver H10 20gb. I looked at the thing they have here on the MPEG viewer (http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/PluginMpegplayer) and followed the instructions for encoding. I ran the program and added in the VIDEO_TS files from the DVD and started it up. It ran through this DOS window until it finally said press any key to continue. So I did, and then checked the destination folder. Nothing was there.
What am I doing wrong? How can I get videos onto my Rockbox iRiver? I have a recent build (just downloaded it like 4 days ago).
Thanks!
PaulJam:
Hi,
i could imagine that this doen't work because the DVD is copy protected.
Does the output in the "DOS window" give any hints what went wrong?
And which instructions did you follow? There are at least 3 ways how to encode videos described.
JungleJim:
I used the instructions for WinFF. I'll check the DOS window again to see what it says.
Skeith:
use DVD decrypter to get the files to your HDD, then use simple divx to convert the vob streams to a divx .avi. Then download TMPGenc and encode to MPEG1 with a low resolution and bitrate.
I got The Matrix down to 400MB 160x128 res (native Iriver H10 20GB resolution) and 300kbs vbr. Mine starts playing slow after 5 min or so, im trying to figure that out though. :p best of luck.
