how do i get wps to work

hi im kinda new to rockbox so im not sure how to get wps to work. the one i have is dockpodremix. when i extracted the zip i placed all the folders into my .rockbox in my ipod and selected the wps when i turned the ipod back on but nothing happenes wen i do it. am i doing something rong?

A quick look in the manual, brought out this:

Configuring the WPS

But since that is an entire theme, you should go here instead:

Settings → Browse Themes

and then choose your theme...

i no that already  .  the wps's that come with rockbox works but the ones i dl doesnt for some reason.

hey stickydoorknob, what exactly is not working?
It sounds like the files are not being placed in the correct folders so try this:
extract the archive to a folder on you computer.
Look inside, there should be the folders:

backdrops
fonts
themes
wps

together in one folder. Copy these folders into the .rockbox directory on you iPod and that should do it.

thx for ur help. so um i have to put wps folder, themes folder,fonts  folder and backdrops folder that i extracted into 1 single folder and put that single folder into .rockbox directory? i did that but i couldnt find the .rockbox directory on the ipod. how do i load the wps? by the way, themes backdrops and err fonts work for me, im only having trouble with the wps =(

When you load a theme, rockbox reads the theme file from .rockbox/themes/nameoftheme.cfg
which tells rockbox to look for the backdrop in backdrops etc.
so
/.rockbox
              backdrops
              fonts
              themes
              wps
                    nameofthetheme (this is a folder)
                    nameofthetheme.wps

your archive may not have the same structure so you may not be able to just extract to the root of the iPod.
But the archive will have a folder that has backdrops, fonts etc. in it. Just drag all the folders into .rockbox and that should work.
If you're getting the theme to load everything but the wps it may be a problem with the .cfg file, which WPS are you using?

i tried using starry eyed surprise, cool blue and dockpodremix, found all 3 on this site.... but none of the wps works for me =(. is it me or the files?

it sounds like part of your problem is that you can't find the .rockbox directory. Make sure that you have hidden files enabled on your system. I am not sure what your system is so I can't tell you how to do that. Once you can see the .rockbox folder things might make a little more sense.

sorry for being a huge computer noob but what do u mean by system? what kind of mp3 i have? i have an ipod. i can find  where .rockbox directory is when im on my computer with ipod plugged in  its just that i cant find .rockbox directory wen im on my ipod trying to find it in "files". and i got my .rockbox build from this website so im guessing its not unoffical? and the only theme i tried so far that has a wps that works is phkVH . thx for the ppl who actually spent time understanding what im trying to say lol.

Starry Eyed Surprise and Cool blue need unofficial builds, from what I've been reading Dockpod remix is currently broken (It's my wps so I will be working on it soon). Have you tried other wps's, or is it just these three that do not work?

the only other wps i tried besides these were twilight and phkVH (phkVH works perfectly and i love it as of now but twilight doesnt work). i kind of gave up after having all these not working. i mean the backdrops, fonts, and everything else works its just the while playing screen not working.
