I have a problem, when i load a rom or something it runs really slowly, i've tried everything, any ideas?

You pretty much have two options:

1) Buy a faster MP3 player.
2) Optimize the code.

Just curious, what are considered to be the faster players v. the slower ones?

Gigabeat F/X has the fastest raw processor among supported players.

More details at http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/DeviceChart although that won't help compare the relative performance of, for example, Coldfire vs. PortalPlayer CPUs.
