MIDI
« on: April 22, 2007, 05:42:42 AM »
i try to get MIDI working but it won't, it always says "no MIDI patchset found"
"please install the instruments"

but i donwloaded the 22MB big file extracted it into the root of my player. Is there maybe anything i forgot. or am i just to stupid?

Hi,

according to the wiki page http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/PluginMidiPlay you need to extract the file into the .rockbox folder on your player, not into the root.

yes they must be in "/.rockbox/patchset/". Extract the archive with it's including patchset-dir to "/.rockbox/" and then listen to midis.

This is a known issue as the Ipods can't run at the required sample rate natively.
