not installing on my 1g 2gb Nano

I've tryed about 20 times and it still won't work... could it have something to do with the latest iPod firmware?

What do you mean by "not installing"? What do you do, and what happens?

I have tried both the installer linked to in the manual and by manualy dragging and dropping the files to the iPod. All that happens is the Apple firmware loads

If so, what did it say when it finished, and what exactly are you doing after it runs? And I mean exactly.

Yeah, iPodPatcher and it says "[INFO] Bootloader installed successfully. Press ENTER to exit ipodpatcher :" I hit enter go to windows explorer and eject my iPod, and restart my iPod

And what, exactly, happens when you do?

i press Menu and Select at the same time and it loads iPod firmware

And why didn't you also extract the rockbox.zip to your iPod?

You need to follow all of the instructions exactly as they are in the manual. The install process require both the bootloader and the firmware.

Just wondering, where should rockbox.ipod be? it says its not in the correct place when i boot.
On my mac it extracted outside of the .rockbox folder and on windows it was inside. (it's still FAT32 so that is not the problem)

If it extracted outside on your mac, you were using an old Rockbox.zip or a bad extraction program. It's inside, and all current zips have it there.
