some help re: startup screen?

i just updated for the first time since the new startscreen was implemented, and i want some help restoring a bit of functionality:

it used to be, with 'resume on startup,' that pressing 'stop' before shutting the player down would make it default to the browser on startup. with 'resume' as the selected startscreen, it resumes the last playlist even wh4en i don't want it to.  same with the 'previous screen' option, stop then off resumes on startup.

can someone help me out? i'm comfortable patching/compiling, but i don't know much about the code itself

edit: if i can get the stop button to get me to the browser instead of the overmenu, the 'previous screen' option would recognize it. that's probably the best solution
