In the greyscale version vol-07 is now used for 0db because it's the second to last definition in the conditional and I was asked recently why the volume never turns "full" on the H100 which doesn't go above 0dB...

I have no objections. Somewhere way back in this thread I actually requested that someone improve my crude graphics :)
Good point about the volume icons - I only tested on an iPod, which goes to +6dB, so I didn't experience the 'lack of a full icon' phenomena.
pixelma:
Just committed a first cleanup of the cabbiev2 in svn (mainly deleting unused files, renaming for consistency etc., the commit message explains it) - one thing was also the vol-8 and vol-9 issue in the greyscale version where I only supplied a "full" image without exclamation mark but no visual changes to the icons themselves for now.
The next step is the greyscale menu background which I prepared and would like some feedback before a commit (will attach the bitmaps to the tracker entry, FS#8443). The size of the logo is now the same as in the 160x128 colour version (the mini's scaled accordingly) and much lighter. I made it as light as I thought was necessary to not make reading too difficult on my M5 which has a slightly brighter backlight than the H100. I had the possibility to watch it on an Ipod Mini too where the lightgrey is unfortunately very bright but I'd prefer that to "too dark" and don't want to break consistency because of that (the colour versions are also not handled differently just because the one or other display might show the colours or contrast differently). Opinions?
Edit:
New greyscale wps versions now available in the tracker too (including screenshots). I explained the most things there, just forgot to mention that the volume icons are now mostly dark grey (and a bit of light reflections) and the last one for above 0dB is more black (still a bit 3D-ish) - but I kept the exclamation mark because the difference was not too visible on my M5. As above I'm asking for opinions, maybe someone (ZincAlloy?) could also answer the question about the placement of the Rockbox logo in the menu background, that yapper asked in the tracker...
ZincAlloy:
looks good.
I usually place the menu screen logo so that the bottom of the "R" aligns with the wps screen icons (which probably wouldn't look good in this case).
Idokras:
I'm using the 2007-10-24 build for my 5G ipod video because of the harddisc issue...any newer build has it rattling non-stop.
The problem is, I can't use the cabbiev2 theme with it - the menus look ok when I choose it, but the playing screen isn't showing the theme. Simply copying the necessary files from a newer build doesn't work. Is there any way to implement it? I'd really love to use it as it's by far the cleanest and best looking one.
Thanks for any help!
hhannah:
I guess the problem with your version would be the album art displaying, so you would have to remove the AA instructions and conditionals, making it work always as it does in the no AA case (text lines centered).
Just in case you want to give it a try, the r16507 (and probably other versions, but that is one I'm sure of) didn't have mayor hard disk spinning problems, and do support cabbie2 (displaying AA)
