Here's my quick mod of the cabbie theme.

As a retail-end user who asked for a better default theme some months ago, I am extremely impressed with the work that has been done so far and think that the various versions of Cabbie 2.0 are a vast improvement.  I would think that for many non technically minded users this would be the only theme they would want or need.

I am currently running a version of Cabbie 2.0 and the only modification I have made is to add a line that says :
Battery time: 10 hrs 30 mins (or whatever) at the top, because I find that when you are traveling, like going on a car journey, or waiting for a plane in an airport it is useful to know how much time you have left relative to the journey, and while the graphic gives a rough guide, it is vague. [Anyhow, that is just me].

Overall the putative default screen seems excellent and displays Rockbox to advantage.

I received this email from a fellow named Ken not long ago:

"Hello (Fellow Canadian) Marc,
I've downloaded and installed the Cabbie 2.0 theme and noticed a small glitch.
The shuffle icon in the wpsbackdrop-176x220x16.bmp file is "turned on" instead of "off".
I've attached a corrected file for you.  Use it if you'd like."

To which I replied that although my name was attached to the file in the wiki, it wasn't actually my work and that he should come here and tell somebody about it... Which I guess he didn't... So I fixed the backdrop file (which he was so kind to fix himself and mail me) in the .zip and re-uploaded it to the e200 WPS page, FYI.

Awesome! I will update the complete zip on the tracker as soon as possible. And if any other updates are made to any of the ports, definitely post them in this thread as I will probably overlook them.


EDIT: Is the background image for the wps screen supposed to look like the image attached? I thought that all it was supposed to have was a greyed out shuffle and repeat icon?

yes, it should only have greyed out shuffle and reapeat icons.

Fixed version now up. Also going to update the complete zip on the tracker.

the bars should be wider (just like they used to be). who broke that? I believe I fixed the width of the bars ages ago and the shuffle status was alright. this theme was working perfectly.

Tabernac I think this is my fault.  See my post a few up about an email from Ken.  Maybe if the wiki is rolled back a few steps the old one can be dug up?  Or even better, grab the one from the .zip in the tracker.  Ken might still have been right about the background though, check it out.

Actually, I'm pretty sure that this is my fault. I changed them to make them the same size as the nano version...

The easiest way to do it is to find the old version on the wiki attachments.

why did you make them the same size as the nano version??

I have a copy of the old version on my hd..
should I make a new backdrop with a slightly lighter drop shadow under the now playing bar?
It will be less work to update the progress bar and backdrop than to rename the old theme btw...

Hmmm. I honestly don't remember why I did that... And yes, ZincAlloy, go ahead and update just the background and progressbar images (what I originally intended) and you can make the drop shadow a bit lighter if you want.
