ONGOING DEFAULT THEME CONTEST!!!
yapper:
Does acknowledge-12 have any advantage over Helv?
terrence1019:
Yeah.
I tested it with multiple themes, and it seems to be very adaptive, though I had to adjust the WPS graphics for some themes. It fits perfectly with a good majority. It also looks much neater than the Helv font: more decent and less sparse.
Try it. :)
ZincAlloy:
Cabbie default was originally intended to use the snap font, which looks similar to acknowledge, but it turned out it didn't work with my original layout and helv was way easier to read. We would need different sizes of a font, as well.
In my opinion acknowledge shouldn't be considered for the default theme.
edit: I just realized: it looks as if we're done with cabbie 2. great work, everybody. I enjoyed this project a lot. lots of love to all of you!
karashata:
I was the one who made the acknowledge font using the ttf/otf font conversion tools available somewhere on the site in the wiki, and I only made font sizes I could use with the themes I made. If you wanted more sizes, I'd recommend getting those tools and searching for that font (I found it as part of a giant font pack, some 6,760 fonts in all). Just be warned that the point sizes don't match the pixel height of the font (the number I have in the font name is the pixel height), so it may take some trial and error to get matching sizes to currently used fonts in many themes. Also, the font has a _lot_ of extra space above and below the letters, which are only around 5 pixels high (for both the 10- and the 12-pixel high fonts), and would be next to impossible to read on the higher resolution displays with higher pixel density.

ZincAlloy: We're pretty much done except for the archos port. I wonder when pixelma will be finished? I think we should start discussion about which ports to add to SVN.
