Bad Gigabeat Flash (Topic Split)
« Reply #2 on: April 18, 2007, 09:15:48 PM »
Probably flashed something wrong. ;P  I just applied the patches described in the first post.

Now I tried again and it's really weird, it keeps flashing and flashing every time I boot it.

Alright, something's gone really wrong now.  I can't seem to enter rescue mode anymore.  With the hard drive out, it says SYSTEM ERROR 00000002 and doesn't go into USB mode.  With the hard drive in, it keeps flashing over and over and over again.

Alright again.  Seems like I didn't bork the flash after all.  I was trying to use USB mode without plugging in the USB wire first.  I'll keep hacking to see if things get working.

Okay, what's odd now is that the OF won't boot.  It goes through the flash bootloader, then flashes the OF background, then displays SYSTEM ERROR C00F74E4.  The RB bootloader boots RB fine though.

As you modify the bootloader with the patch , it can work with rockbox but the original firmware can't work with it.
try to reload the original firmware with the official update from toshiba
