Gigabeat Database update problems

Gigabeat F20 Rockbox Version #r13134-070412

Rockbox was working well on my gigabeat for about a week, until 4 days ago when I loaded some new music on it, told it to update the database, and attempted to play.  Now it gets stuck in the updating database screen.  Have to flip the battery switch in order to get anything out of it.

Have been attempting to initialize/update database since then, and have had no luck. have even formatted gigabeat, totally re-installed system files, whatever. No luck.

If you have any ideas, let me know.

One of your new files is broken, thus choking the database.
You'll need to find which one by trial and error.

It doesn't matter which files I put in.  Unless I have a bunch of bad mp3's.  They play under gigabeat so I don't think it's them.

So therefore I presume they are .sat encrypted files? If so, Rockbox won't play them.

No, they are MP3's.  Which I placed on the gigabeat via the usb.  I wonder if there is a setting about the database which needs changed or something.

I've gone back to using the gigabeat room for now, but it SUCKS after having rockbox...

Try this:
Export Modifications (from Database settings menu)
Delete all the /.rockbox/*.tcd files
Initialise Now (from Database settings menu)
Import Modifications

That will clear and rebuild your database

Cool.  I'll give that a shot in the next day or so.  Profs are starting to pile on the homework as the end of the semester comes up.
