Rockbox shuts down during syncing on Sansa Fuze

I have searched for this answer, so please forgive me if it's one of those "duh" answers...

I have just installed the newest version of Rockbox on a Sansa Fuze V1, 8Gb player and while syncing music to the external drive through Media Monkey and MSC mode, the player will shut down during the syncing. 

How can I stop this?

Also, one other part of the forums says to Read the FAQs to particular players.  Does this mean the FAQs at the player's site or here at Rockbox?  I've looked all over for FAQs to players here and can't seem to find out where they are.
