Which files, exactly, have you downloaded?

I said "exactly". Bad checksum means either you accidentally downloaded the wrong one, or the file got corrupted while you were copying it.

Can you post the output of the bootloader?  i.e. the checksums that are displayed?

The build you downloaded is the iPod Color build. You've downloaded the wrong one.

Well, that "ipco" in there means "ipod color".

Did you download the build for the 30GB models, or the one for the 60/80GB models? This is important to note.

To use the 30GB build on an 60/80GB Ipod is also possible (if you accidentally downloaded that) maybe it could decrease battery life a bit. It doesn't cause any problems as the different way round, it just doesn't use all of the available RAM.

I've heard of this as well, but at the same time I've been told that using the exact build for your iPod video is always best.
