Ipodpatch
« on: July 25, 2007, 04:52:38 PM »
My Ipod is a 5G 30GB, I extract the zip file that was downloaded to the root folder of the Ipod.  The problem I am having is when I use the Ipodpatcher that was downloaded from the link in the manual I get the following error message

[INFO] Scanning disk devices...
[ERR]  No ipods found, aborting
[ERR]  Please connect your ipod and ensure it is in disk mode
[ERR]  Please refer to the Rockbox manual if you continue to have problems.

Press ENTER to exit ipodpatcher :

I've tried this in disk mode and normal mode, restarted the PC, tried a different USB port and cable.  The Ipod works perfectly fine and shows up in Windows Explorer but I can't seem to get Ipodpatcher to find my Ipod to boot Rockbox.  Any ideas would be much appreciated

Which version of Windows are you running?

Does the user you are running ipodpatcher.exe as have Administrator rights?

I'm going to premise this with I think:

Three days ago linuxstb committed a change to iPod patcher to do with partition types which I believe has to do with iPod detection, but I don't think an updated iPodpatcher has yet been released.

I think he plans to shortly, but I don't want to speak for anyone else.
