Title: UADE-Plugin (exotic Amiga-Mods)
Post by: shabu on January 21, 2019, 08:28:49 AM
hi all,

i very much enjoy listening to exotic amiga mods with https://www.exotica.org.uk/wiki/UADE (https://www.exotica.org.uk/wiki/UADE) under linux (support for 200+ formats!). now i wonder, if an uade-plugin for rockbox devices would be possible after all?

a dream would come true playing them back 'natively' on my little sansas.

all the best

to answer my question, yes it is possible.

i just realized that a forum member already started working on an uade-plugin for rockbox, long ago  8)

http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php/topic,27812.msg180455.html#msg180455

unfortunately, the existing code never saw the light of day and seems to be lost forever.

taking into account the issues discussed in that thread, i am curious to know, how much time actually needs to be invested for a skilled coder, rewriting such a plugin from scratch?

That plugin is on flyspray: https://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/12807?opened=6254&status%5B0%5D=

awesome find, thanks a lot, saratoga.

so, a proper patch does not exist (yet), and for now, all you have to do is to:

- copy the bitmap and rockuade folders to the plugins folder in rockbox sources

- extract the data.zip file in the .rockbox folder?

sounds fairly easy, got to try this asap with my clip zip. hope it works on that device too.

You'll need to apply that patch off FS and compile Rockbox from source.

hi builtin,

of course you are right, i just did not realize soon enough.

that sole comment on flyspray is about compiling errors, anybody successfully created rockuade before?
