Title: Quick Jump from WPS context menu to approrpriate database page?
Post by: Frankenpod on June 13, 2015, 08:46:48 AM
The WPS context-menu has the option to see the 'track details'.  You can scroll up and down those details, highlighting them, though pressing buttons when on an entry doesn't do anything.

I was wondering if it would be possible to make it so that if you pressed select (or some other key) when on an entry in that list, you would jump straight to the relevant part of the database (assuming the database was enabled and built)?

So if looking at 'album name' you'd jump to the part of the database for that album, or if you clicked when the 'artist' was highlighted you jump to the database entry for that artist, and so on.

This would of course be akin to the ipod OF context menu option of 'go to album' and 'go to artist'.  I think pretty much all the fields listed in 'details' are also available as selection fields in the database screen?

There's already a way to sort-of achieve this for the current album via the pictureflow plug-in - could perhaps this be done via a plug-in?

Would definitely be a nice feature to have. Of course a tagnavi.config with a submenu like this gets you halfway there already, just takes a few more button presses:

Code: [Select]
%menu_start "same" "Same as current"
"Artist" -> album ? artist = "#artist#" -> title  = "fmt_title"
"Album Artist" -> album ? albumartist = "#albumartist#" -> title  = "fmt_title"
"Album" -> title = "fmt_title" ? album = "#album#"

I also wished this was possible (i.e. referring to the year of the playing song):

Code: [Select]
"Year" -> albumartist ? year = "#year#" -> album -> title  = "fmt_title"
