Title: WPS partial line scrolling (patch)
Post by: lowlight on August 30, 2006, 12:03:24 PM
I've put up a patch to allow scrolling part of a line. The current behavior of %s in the wps is to scroll the whole line regardless of where the %s is. With this patch, only text after (to the right) of %s will be scrolled.

I've attached a screenshot using this wps:
Code: [Select]

Artist: %s%?ia<%ia|%?d2<%d2|(root)>>
Album: %s%?id<%id|%?d1<%d1|(root)>>
Title: %s%?it<%it|%fn>

%pb
%al%pc%ac%pp/%pe%ar%pt

Next: %s%?It<%It|title not available>

Testing & comments welcomed.

Nice patch :)
Do you think it would be possible to add a paramter to the %s tag to specify a number of pixels (wich would be kinda like a margin) ?
The effect it would have would be the same as putting some spaces right before the %s tag... Do you see what I mean ?

Indeed ;D

For this I would like to have an own tag which enables a margin - even without scrolling...
Essentially that's what the "scrolling text margins patch (FS#2954)" does - IMHO it would be nice to have a "%m|xstartmargin|xendmargin|" tag with the CVS margin code instead implementing another one... ;)
