Title: Could someone please upload .rockbox optimized for CF modded iRiver 120?
Post by: ironmine on May 29, 2019, 06:35:50 AM
Hello,

I have replaced the hard drive inside my iRiver 120 player with a CF adapter. There became something wrong either with the player, or the hard drive: it started skipping songs in the middle of a track and jumping to the next one. So, I figured, the hard drive was dying so I decided to do the CF mod. I did the mod successfully, but..

I still have the same problem with skipping files in the middle of a song. Any song I play, in any format, somewhere in the middle of a song it stops playing and skips to the next track. It's driving me nuts.

I already tried various solutions and suggestions that I found on web forums, none of them has helped to solve the problem.

The only 2 things I did do - I did not apply CF patch (https://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/8644) and I did not modify  ata.c file as mentioned here (http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php/topic,12330.msg97850.html#msg97850).

I spent two days trying to figure out how to do these two things, but for the life of me, I simply cannot. I installed a bunch of programs and downloaded many things and tried to understand how all works, but I failed. I am not smart enough to do it.

Could PLEASE somebody upload for me a recompiled .rockbox firmware with these two things mentioned above incorporated?

If you know any other way or method how to solve the problem with mid-song skipping, especially after CF mod, please advise.

Thank you!

Regards,
Eugene K
