Title: No Car Adapter mode for most surpported Ipods?
Post by: weywodyo on November 23, 2009, 05:27:01 AM
Just got an Ipod Nano 1st gen.  Installed Rockbox current build on it and realized there is no Car Adapter mode.  I have used Rockbox on a Sansa E260 before and thought the Car adapter mode is such an essential feature.

So first of all, I am wondering, why isn't this feature available for the Ipod Nano 1G?

I've checked ROckbox manuals for other Ipods and only found the feature available for Ipod video.

Secondly, I've searched and found a patch from 2007  ( FS#6940 - Nano Car Adapter Mode enabled) that add this features to Ipod nano (so obviously it is capable of doing it), but couldn't patch it myself ( it would reject patching the power-ipod.c file).  I'm guessing because the patch is old.  So if there is no good reason for Ipods to include this function, can someone maybe show me how to patch it for the current build?

Please provide FS# so others can see which patch you mean.
