Title: Problem by uninstalling
Post by: diabless6 on June 10, 2010, 08:18:51 AM
I have a Sansa Fuze with 2GB. I installed RockBox completely. I then uninstall it to see if I have no problem after.

After formatting the 2GB, I have since I bought it, 1.87go. So far no problem.

But since I uninstalled RockBox, the free space increased to 1.67go! I lost almost 200mb! Despite having to format

and reformat several times, I can not retrieve them.

I think that the uninstall is not complete and did a poor job doing.

I have not much memory on it !

Thank you for your help.

Hello,

I tried all the manipulations. Formatting MSC MCP had no effect.

The BootLoader of RockBox does not even remove the RockUtility !

I tried to do a minimal installation, no packages. (Without games).

As if by magic, the games were always present, even with the minimal installation !

Thank you programmers ....

You do not even know the proper uninstallation.

All remained in the hidden partition. It's pathetic. I'm angry.

I lost because of a 200Mb partition resized. >:(

is zero zero zero

Rockbox isn't 200mb large, "minimal installation" still installs games and is supposed to (what it doesn't install are the extra fonts and extra large data files that don't need updating with new builds). Formatting removes the Rockbox binaries, but possibly not the bootloader. "MCP" doesn't mean anything, and the fact that you're typing nonsense like it makes it hard to believe you're paying careful attention to what you're doing. There's no such thing as "RockUtility" either. If you're referring to "Rockbox Utility" that's a program that you run on your PC, where the Bootloader is a binary installed to your player. There's no way for your player to affect software on your personal computer, so it makes no sense at all to expect the bootloader to remove the Rockbox Utility.

Maybe stop and try to make some sort of sane sense, and people might be able to help you a bit better.

It sounds like you lost 200mb because you improperly formatted your device.

We do not provide or support a tool called "RockUtility". So what on earth are you talking about? We do provide an installer called "Rockbox Utility" but I don't think you could be referring to that. Also, the BootLoader (another thing we don't provide, we provide a bootloader) doesn't remove anything. So it also can't remove any "RockUtility". The purpose of the bootloader is to load Rockbox, not to remove anything.

As if by magic, the games were always present, even with the minimal installation !

Rockbox Utility does provide a button "Install Game Files". This doesn't tell anything that it would install game plugins, it tells that it installs files needed by some games (to be exact: doom, which is even mentioned in the text next to that button) to run. So no, you can't be referring to Rockbox Utility.
