The utility works great for me (H120). I'm using it for keeping Rockbox up to date.
Just a quick thought: I think it would be nice to have a distinction between installing and updating? I think it would make sense to have a separate "update" button. Maybe the install button could install the current plus fonts, wps’s and other stuff, while the update function would only replace changed files… Discuss!

This makes an unnecessary distinction. You have to download the whole build anyway, so there's no reason not to extract the whole build to the player, and people knowing than to Update you simply Install is helpful if they ever choose to manually install.
It basically makes it less clear to the user what's going on if you have an Update button that's really just an "Install" and an "Install" button that really installs more than just Rockbox.
