Title: Hold Switch?
Post by: cachondo on January 11, 2013, 04:34:42 AM
Hi,

I'm sure this has come up before but can't see a thread. IS there a keypad lock/hold switch in Rockbox? In the original Sansa firmware, a long press of select locks the keys so jostling or accidental keypresses don't react.

Thanks!

Most devices that Rockbox runs on have a hardware-based hold switch.

At least some (all?) of the devices lacking a physical hold switch have a software hold system (see e.g. http://download.rockbox.org/daily/manual/rockbox-sansaclipplus/rockbox-buildch4.html#x7-500004.3.1 for the Clip Zip), but it is (maybe not on all of them) only currently present on the WPS.

You don't say what player you have, other than Sansa - which is it?

It's the clip, so I see home+select. Sorry, the PDF manual I had wasn't playing very nicely with my screen reader.  The tables in the HTML manual are much more accessible. :) thank you!
