Title: iPod 4g grayscale. Not working.
Post by: tensorproduct on September 12, 2006, 06:03:01 AM
Hi,
I downloaded and installed Rockbox for the 4g iPod yesterday.  Initially, it worked just fine except that when connected to my computer (via Firewire) it would charge, but not appear on the the computer as an external drive.

This morning while listening to music on the iPod, I went to change the volume, at which point it froze and displayed the message

Data abort
at 0004CFC4

Which still shows now.

I have tried any number of button presses and connected the device to more a couple of different computers, with both Firewire and USB, to no avail.

Can anybody help, please?

:/ Disregard the above.

Holding select + menu resets the player.  I'm sure everyone else already new that, though.

Still having trouble getting the PC to recognise the player via Firewire though.  USB works fine, luckily.

The "Broken Players" under Hardware is for players that are *physically* broken, such as a dead HD, or a broken off component.

Firewire is not supported under Rockbox yet.
