Title: Unable to "Select your device in the file system"
Post by: Jawko on July 01, 2018, 01:59:17 PM
Greetz...
I am trying to mod an old 3G 40GB iPod classic to a SSD. I installed the iFlash adapter and am using a 128GB SD card. On 10.11.6 on Mac 12.7.5.9 on iTunes.

When I plug the iPod in via USB it enters Dick Mode and I am able to sync songs over via iTunes. The iPod is also mounted on the desktop and is accessible through the Disk Utility. However, when I eject and restart the iPod (menu + Play/Pause) the apple logo appears for a second and then I get the folder with exclamation point icon. That's where it hangs up.

I thought maybe if I put on RockBox (which I have never used) it might work. I connect the iPod and it mounts onto the desktop, but when I open the RockBox Utility and try to manually select the device (it was unable to Autodetect) the iPod doesn't show up as an option in the "select your device..." dropdown menu - even after using the refresh button.

All help appreciated - thanks!
