This is the new theme I'm working, based on a guitar amp, or something vintage...
For Disk Activity a tube will flash "warm" behind the silver plate.
I'm thinking in something like a front of a speaker cabinet for the backdrop image.
Any other suggestions?

LOL, soap!!!
I really like this one too. I'll have to put this on my 5g iPod when I get it running. Nice work!
-
Nice (although I'm something of minimalist myself).
How do the "Hold" and "Shuffle" buttons work? For most of the physical switches I've seen, up==off and down=on, but the light on "Shuffle" in the example looks like it's on. Is it a case of "towards the label" is on? If so, seems a bit inconsistent.
Very clear otherwise - I like the fact that graphics are backed up with a nice unambiguous label, and it "feels" good.
Not sure what you mean by backdrop? You mean for non-wps screens, or something additional to the WPS? (which would be gilding the lily IMO)
-
That is one of the best looking WPS screens I've ever seen.
-
Super hot! A tweed "salt and pepper" marshall grille cloth would rule as a backdrop.

Thanks for all the repplies. I have been busy, but I'll finish the theme this week.
@auto123: Sorry, but I think the Sansa screen size is not enough to display a good definition for this theme. Maybe I'll try to make a modified version for players with smaller screens.

I think that is the convention for mechanical switches. I am certainly not familiar with many cases of toggle switches oriented so that down==ON.

This appears to be true in the US, but isn't the case here in the UK.
Down is definitely On here, and Up is off.
-
Huh. That's very interesting. I wonder how unique that is to the UK. I just checked and the electronics we have here from Britain do indeed have their switches oriented as you say. However, Italy (and I believe France) appears to follow the same convention as the US.
In any case, it wouldn't be too hard for the end user to change the WPS code to make the switches operate in either fashion (since it only involves swapping references to images, not changes to the background image).

I've applied the EvilG build incorporating the landscape patch, and I'd have to say that this looks superb.
Edit:
1) In keeping with the "down-is-on" UK theme, having play at the bottom of the cross and pause at the top seems more consistent to me. This is much less clear-cut than the normal toggles though
2) Accessing the quick menu with a long press initially brings the menu up using the correct font for the them. Subsequently toggling through any option on the menu causes the font to flip to the standard tiny font, and when returning to the WPS, the font has also changed on the WPS. Re-selecting the PHK theme puts everything right again.
3) Is there a screenshot showing the "glow" behind the grill for disk access. I can't really see a difference on mine (unless I never see it, or it's always on :-))
Edit: 3 - this is a problem with the resolution of my eyes, not the theme :-)
Edit: 2 - just noticed that there's no need to reselect the WPS - on a Gigabeat F40 at least, just hit the menu button to toggle in and out, and the font is correctly restored,

Super theme! There is absolutely only one small thing I would change. I would either remove the boundary on the backdrop, or use a custom list position to fit the menus inside of that boundary, other than that this theme is perfection.
