Title: Sansa Clip v1 drivers for Windows 7x64?
Post by: Jorpho on December 09, 2019, 11:39:51 PM
Hello,

I picked up an old 4GB Sansa Clip v1 recently.  (I assume it's a v1 since the system version comes up as V01.01.18A; it says BH0804ATWK on the bottom.)  All the buttons and functions seem to work and it is properly identified when I plug it into the handy Windows XP (32-bit) machine I still have kicking around.

Unfortunately, when I plug in into my Windows 7x64 computer, it comes up as an Unknown Device, regardless of whether I try to switch it to MTP or MSC.  This is all the more frustrating as my Sansa Clip+ works perfectly with Windows 7.

Is there some way of circumventing this problem?  Will it help if I install Rockbox on the Clip v1?  (Is that even still an option..?)

The Clip uses standard MSC storage drives in Windows, same as the Clip+ so you don't need anything special.  No idea why it wouldn't work, try a different PC?

Hm. Right you are. Must have been the cable or something; suddenly, it's working fine.  Oh well.  Thanks for replying.
