Title: Problem with Booting Rockbox
Post by: zombieplasticclock on January 19, 2007, 06:35:46 PM
ok, I've had rockbox for a few weeks now, and when I first got it, it was fine. Now, when I turn it on, it sometimes shows a battery with a small circle with a slash through it, then shuts down, not being able to turn on unless it's plugged into a computer for a while. Now, charging is a good solution, but it's still annoying, especially during long car/bus rides, and hours of free time after exams. Basically, what I'm asking here is why it does that, and is there a way to fix it if a computer isn't available?

If the battery is dead, there is no solution other than charging it.

If the low battery indicator is showing when the battery is actually charged, that's a different story.  If that is the case, try resetting by holding Menu + Select.

No, cause it's full. I even checked the original firmware. the battery was fully charged.

This is a bug.  I've experienced it myself at times.  Just reset using Menu + Select.  If it happens to you again, see if you can figure out what causes it to happen so that we can file an appropriate bug report (or add to an existing one if it is already reported).
