Title: GigabeatX Lockup
Post by: gigabeatX on June 03, 2007, 02:40:02 AM
Hello Everyone. I've just received my Gigabeat X and I've just replaced the firmware with Rockbox after a glowing recommendation from a friend. Unfortunately every time I try to play any of my MP3 files the player will show "Loading" for around 10 seconds and then it does one of the following:
1) shows the playing screen but the disk icon in the top right corner just sits there and the player eventually locks up.
2) Tells me that there is no .rockbox directory and that the installation is incomplete
3) cannot access directory.
I've got a .rockbox directory in the root which is approximately 12.5MB
I've downloaded the bootloader from http://download.rockbox.org/bootloader/gigabeat/FWIMG01.DAT
I've enabled disk cache. The only thing I can then do is turn the batter off and turn it back on. I've tried playing through the database, but it takes me two or three off / on sessions before it will actually build the database. I've done a scan disk and it's come back clean (although i don't really trust microsoft) and i've defragged the Gigabeat.
does anyone have any ideas on what i can do to fix this?

thankyou!
