I don't own an X5 and I can't seem to find this info anywhere quickly so I thought you lot may be able to help me. :)
What keys does the X5 have?
Is this right?
Power button also used as stop button
play/pause button
record button - usually used as menu button
joystick with press in to select
So 8 buttons in all, Have I missed any?
EDIT: My reason for asking is that I wanted to enable on-the-fly track split for the X5 but I'll need another key... I may need to do some re-arranging of keys in the record screen but I'll try not to think about that until I know if I've got the available keys right.
-
joystick - 4 directions plus inward press
play - also used to pause/stop (short press is pause, long press is stop)
rec - also used for settings
power/hold switch - switch has a spring when pushed up to 'on', long push turns Rockbox off. When pushed down it turns on hold.
There is no separate stop button. Rockbox keymapping is still a little weird. I don't think it's possible to use the bookmarks menu since I can't figure out what "ON+Play" is supposed to be on the X5.

ON+Play is the same thing as holding the joystick button.

Right, ok then...So to try to remain consistent how about these mappings for the record screen:
play - pause/resume, Long press stop
rec - Start recording new track, Long press record settings
joystick: up/down - move up/down options
Left/right - decrease/increase
-
Sounds OK to me. It's perhaps unfortunate that the Rec button is used for the menu in the rest of Rockbox, because the user would accidentally start recording a new file when trying to reach the menu.
-
OK then... I've done it but I obviously can't test it, so before I commit could someone with an X5 just make sure the buttons work as above?

ON+Play is the same thing as holding the joystick button.
I can't get this to work.
* Long press on the joystick selects current bookmark
* Short press does the same
* Long press + play does nothing
* Long press + on button does nothing
* Short press + anything selects current bookmark
This is on a recent vanilla build (7/21). What am I missing?
