Title: Another Album Art Question -- iPod Color
Post by: perryman on May 08, 2010, 02:10:16 PM
In deleting music from my library, I decided I would give album art a try on rockbox. I switched my theme to AW140, I've extracted my .jpgs from the id3 tags, converted my .pngs, changed the image names to "cover.jpg" and still don't have album art displaying. I've cleared the album art in iTunes. Is there anything I'm missing?

 ??? ??? ???

If you navigate your folder structure from within Rockbox and open one of the "cover.jpg" files with the jpeg viewer (http://download.rockbox.org/daily/manual/rockbox-ipodcolor/rockbox-buildch11.html#x14-24600011.3.5) do they display properly?

It does not show up on the stock theme.

The cover.jpg loads fine when I "play" the .jpg. Just no image when playing songs.

I am not familiar with OSx at all, but that does not appear to be a directory tree of your iPod itself.
Could you post a similar screenshot of your iPod's actual directory structure down to the cover.jpg level if my assumption is correct?

You are correct, that is my computer.

I only have two artists/albums on my iPod since I didn't want to spend hours adding songs only to have to delete them again.

Hmm.

What version of Rockbox are you running?

r 19569-081223

When I clicked Rockbox info, there is a category 'Album Art' and it says no.

I do remember I had to download an older version of the firmware in order for it to load on my iPod.

When trying to update, I ejected the iPod from my computer and got the following:

Rockbox boot loader
Version: 3.0
IPOD version: 0x000B0011
TOSHIBA MK8010GAH
Partition 1: 0x0B 76183MB
Loading Rockbox...
Length: A28FC
Checksum: 421F88F
Model name: ipco
Loading rockbox.ipod
Sum: 421F891
Error! Can't load rockbox.ipod:
Bad checksum
Hold MENU+SELECT to reboot
then SELECT+PLAY for disk mode

The autodetect feature on the Utility was saying I was using a ipod color/video using autodetect so i tried that out and the bootloader wouldn't load. I was pretty sure I was using a 5th gen iPod so I changed that and voila, it's all loaded and album art is loading. Really appreciate all the help, once again. Thanks!
