Title: "Leave my foreground/background colors alone"
Post by: Yotto on September 20, 2007, 12:04:23 AM
I'm about to release my "iText" theme but there's one final thing I'd like.  As it's all text, I don't want it to change the foreground/background color the user has set.  If you want black on white, white on black, red on purple, whatever, when you select my theme it should stay that way (in my opinion).

I can't for the life of me figure out how to do this, and wonder if it's possible.

If my CFG file contains no foreground/background information, then when I select the theme Rockbox (iPod 5G) sets the background to light blue, foreground to black.  If I include:

foreground:
background:

with no values, it assumes I meant "0" and sets both to black (Not good, obviously)

If I include numbers, that defeats what I'm trying to do.

Is what I'm trying to do possible?  If so, how?

Are you doing this with a modified build?

If there's no foreground or background line in your theme, it shouldn't change the color. As with any .cfg file, it only changes lines if they're present, otherwise loading a theme would reset your volume to the default level (as an example) or turn off your equalizer, etc, etc.

Hmmm, it could be the build.  I just noticed that the simulator doesn't do it, and I just installed a daily build and you can guess what happened.

Now I feel like a goober for not thinking of that.  Never mind.
