I discovered the new RockBox Utility 8) and, as a result, installed the new bootloader (v4) and the latest RB build (I had been using a MaxWen build that was older.)
When my X5 is off, why does a 'short' push on the sideswitch make the screen come on and display "shutting down"?
(And it took me awhile to figure out that the new bootloader is not the same as the (old) DUAL-bootloader!)

The bootloader checks if the ON button is still pushed when it starts. If it isn't, it is assumed that the user pushed it by mistake, and it shuts down.

There has never been a dual-boot bootloader in the Rockbox project. There is an unofficial version floating around, but it is not used or supported by the Rockbox project.

Thanks for that explanation. It makes sense to do it that way, when you think about it....
I was so used to my "short-on-for RockBox" and "Long-On-for_Cowon" -- the way the official bootloader works was confusing. (I was used to the non-official dual-booter.)
I hardly EVER boot into the original OS (that's how much I love RB!)--except when I want to watch video--and there's a long airline flight comin' up next month...
Thanks again! :D

Rockbox supports video too, at higher framerates.

Holy crap! You're right!! :D It's been so long since I've checked on what RB can do, I missed that feature!
