Title: Writing to the recording screen
Post by: fed on June 21, 2007, 03:19:43 PM
Does anyone have any idea how to write to the recoding screen?  I've been through the code, and tried many things, but I just don't seem to be able to get it right!

Any help would be appreciated.

apps/recorder/recording.c is the file where the code for th erec screen is, it would be a lot easier to help you if you told us what you want to do more specifically.

Ideally, I would like to print on the recording screen some big notice showing the recording status (ie pre-recording, recording, pause, stop) and the duration of recording.  I cannot see the status bar on the top of the screen very well.  The writing is too small, and when I use it outside, it is nearly impossible to see what is going on.  I'd like to see it at a glance, just to make sure that I was in fact recording.

You could look in the Recording forum[ url]http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?board=26.0[/url], there is an active little group there. Tis the Recording Enhancement Patch which has a recording screen designed by/for folks who do recordings, if nothing else you could use as guidance on how the screen is drawn.
