Title: Rockbox 3.8 Release Candidates
Post by: AlexP on February 20, 2011, 06:30:45 PM
Hi all,

Rockbox 3.8 is upcoming, and to prepare for that we have some release candidates available.

You can download them from here:

http://rockbox.hostname.be/3.8RC/

They will need to be installed manually - the manual has instructions, but basically you unzip the archive to your player.

Please report any hitherto unreported bugs on flyspray, clearly mentioning 3.8RC

I'm taking it for a spin now.  :)

It's good to know that now we have RC builds.
Don't count with me, however, on the beta testing of these builds - I miss the patches I have on my builds a lot. But I'll try to keep updated with SVN.

For 3.8, I'm looking forward to see the FS#11863 (playback freezes and the whole player freezes too after some seconds) properly solved, and for "properly" I mean it should be resolved completely (and not with half-solutions)... if possible. ;)

As you can see from that bug report, it isn't in 3.8.  It is both still open, and the current last comment says that fixes have been going in after the 3.8 branch.
