Title: Saving a playlist on Sansa C250
Post by: JEJ on March 29, 2009, 12:35:13 AM
The manual from march 28 2009 says that to save a playlist, you just press Volume up or down. Well it does not work. Another issue with the playlist naming feature is that the manual says:
Rec + Select Deletes the character before the line cursor

It doesn't work either you have to press REC and Submenu.

So anyway, could someone please tell me how do I save a playlist?

I assume you have followed these instructions:
Quote
4.4.5.  Saving playlists
To save the current playlist either enter the Playlist submenu in the WPS Context Menu (see section 4.3.3) and select Save Current Playlist or enter the Playlist Options menu in the Main Menu and select Save Current Playlist. Either method will bring you to the Virtual Keyboard (see section 4.1.3), enter a filename for your playlist and accept it and you are done.

and ended up in the virtual keyboard to select a filename?
vol up/down are supposed to accept the chosen filename, what is it that does not work for you?
and btw, thanks for noting the error in the keymap.

Yes I followed those instructions but when I press the volume key (either upot down) it displays a small message but it does it so quickly that I can not read it and then nothing happens. If I check the "View Catalog" option it tells says "No Playlists"

Are you trying to save the playlist to the folder the catalog uses?

I didn't read anything on the manual regarding where the playlist would end up stored. I just followed the procedure without specifying any path. Is that my problem? If so could you please tell me how to tell RB where should it store it?
Thanks

You can type the full path as part of the filename, so just include folder names and such in it, or just save it somewhere you can find then move it.

Thank you. I think it was always working but it was storing the playlist somewhere where the Playlist Catalog wasn't seeing it.
