Hi Everyone :-D
I just got a new Ipod Video 5th Generation 30 Gb
Itunes just sux and is restricted to MAc and Win so i wanted to install Rockbox right away,
but it doesn't seem to like my windows restored ipod :-/
ipodpatcher v0.5 - (C) Dave Chapman 2006
This is free software; see the source for copying conditions. There is NO
warranty; not even for MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
[ERR] ioctl() call to get sector size failed, defaulting to 512
[INFO] Reading partition table from /media/ipod/
[INFO] Sector size is 512 bytes
[ERR] Bad boot sector signature
but it seems to be Fat32 and i read somewhere that restoring a win ipod with itunes should do the trick ....
Sorry i know this sort of Problem comes up very often but i can't solve it by looking at other peoples threads----....
HELP, i'm going Nuts here ^^
THX, Hut :-D

Where did you get your copy of iPodPatcher from, exactly?

Just making sure you're using the latest one, as the version number (0.5) of the software actually spans several revisions unfortunately.
Further misfortune is the fact that I can't really help you with this problem. I'm not exactly sure what's going wrong here.

You should use ipodpatcher with the whole device, not an mounted partition, as "/media/ipod" suggests you are doing.

Does "ipodpatcher --scan" show your ipod?
