Hi all :)
I have a Cowon iAudio X5V player. It is NOT an X5, and the difference is that the X5V (I think the "V" stands for "value") doesn't have FM radio. Or that's what I thought until I went into the debug menu (yes, I know, I should have kept out...) and saw that the FM hardware was detected.
Well, I tried "FM Radio" from the main menu and I can't hear anything but the radio seem to work (or at least, it tries to find stations). I can tune up or down the frequency, but still no sound.
Now my question is: does RockBox believe that I have a FM chip when I don't have any? Is the chip present but disabled? Can I enable the chip? How?
I understand that, in order to keep things simple, the same firmware is used for both the X5 and the X5V (and the X5L, of course), but I thought that I would get an error when trying to use the non-existent FM radio, specially in the debug menu, where I hoped to find a "hardware not detected" message... As anyone can see, I'm very surprised O:)
Thanks, dudes :)

It doesn't appear detection was actually ever implemented for x5. :-\

Hi jhMikeS :)

So the debug part is showing bogus values for the registers and I thought it was detecting the FM hardware... My fault O:) What a pity...
Thanks a lot for your answer!

Yes, just bogus. I'll probably put in a small change to have detection work soon.
