Problem wanted to make a dynamic playlist with a new folder.
The only way to do this seemed to be to delete the existing dynamic playlist otherwise the folder was added to it.
I could only find a method to remove entries one at a time.
Does any one know of another way of doing this?
-
If you stop playing a playlist it should effectively be deleted, no?
-
Yes, to create a new dynamic playlist just stop (not pause) playback. Then the next thing you insert will be in a clear playlist.
-
By stop do you mean Shutdown?
This wont work if resume on bookmark is set.
-
No, just stop playback.
What player do you have?
-
Sansa c240, dont think it has stop

Dosn't work, Long Play
Goes back to file browers , correct follow playlist.
book mark createted, correct bookmark on stop
Resume playback resumes the dynamic playlist

Sorry, I didn't understand? Stopping the music will indeed bring you back to the file browser, at which point you go find some new music to play either by simply selecting it or by inserting or queueing through the context menu.

Resume playback resumes the dynamic playlist
Yes, but if you insert something new it will start a new playlist.

Maybe the wording is a bit problematic in this thread? To start a new playlist from a folder just play any file from that folder. This will replace the dynamic playlist with the contents of that folder. You don't need to stop playback for this, but it works the same if playback is stopped.
If you stop playback and then use the "insert" items of the context menu this won't replace the dynamic playlist but do what those items say -- insert the tracks (into the current dynamic playlist).
Edit: seems I was remembering wrong on that :(

If you stop playback then use insert, it will start a new playlist with that one item.
If you pause playback (or indeed leave playback going) then insert, it will insert the item into the dynamic playlist already in existence.
Edit: To clarify - when I said:

Yes, but if you insert something new it will start a new playlist.
I was responding to robin0800 having said he had already stopped playback
