Title: Gigabeat's SAT files
Post by: cdeanp on July 24, 2007, 06:08:47 PM
Is there a way to convert my .SAT files into a format that rockbox will play?  I pulled all the files off the gigabeat via beatroom because I thought I was going to format it. That was before I found and switched to rockbox.  Now I have several hundred songs on my PC in SAT format. I really don't want to throw my CDs back in the computer and rip them all again.

Hi Saratoga

After reading the "Remove SAT encryption" wiki, I've just got another question...If I want to put unecrypted mp3s on my Gigabeat, do I have to follow those steps everytime I sync? (copy files to GB > uninstall rockbox > copy files back to PC to decrypt > install rockbox > copy decrypted files back to GB?)...Please say it aint so.

Thanks for all the help

No, if you have actual MP3s (not .sat), and Rockbox installed, you just copy them over with drag and drop in the filetree, or some other program (as long as it's not a program that will encrypt them).

My Giga & PC keep locking up when I click on the music folder on my giga.  anyone know what to do?  I have to use task manager to close out the explorer window.
