Title: Help with installing Rockbox on iPod 5.5g

I just got this refurbished 30GB iPod Video which I formatted right after opening and making sure it works. I then ran RockboxUtility from root and I keep getting this message:

Error reading partition table - possibly not an Ipod
Error reading partition table - possibly not an Ipod
Error reading partition table - possibly not an Ipod

Does the Apple firmware work on it? Depending on how your formatted it you may need to restore it with iTunes.

I formatted it in FAT format. I'm going to take your iTunes suggestion and report back. Thank you :)
UPDATE: It works!! Thank you so much for suggesting the obvious to me. I'm such a klutz
