Title: Gigabeat wont load
Post by: krooney10 on October 13, 2009, 07:04:25 AM
Hi i have a Gigabeat F20 i have tried manually installing Rockbox manually before i come accross this website to see that you have an automated installer ( also i downloaded this rockbox on isohunt.com as a modified gigabeat update or something) anyway everythin was ok i got the message Firmware Updated, Push Power Button, so i did? then i get the message again, so i do it again. i got frustrated and turned the battery off and the same message appears. But now i cannot access the Hard drive and the computer wont recognise it at all. is there any utilitys i could use cause im assuming that the autoloader files hav'nt deleted.

i would appreciate any help at all, any idea's IM GOING OUT OF MY MIND!

THANK YOU
KEV

Thanks, but i thought of a different method i have bought a 1.8" to 3.5" connector to connect to my PC and delete the files manually and then switch it on and hopefully use the automated rockbox installer, i will post back to let you know if it was succesful!

If you can connect the drive to your PC to format / fix, that will makes things  a lot easier.

Basically, format it as FAT32 (not NTFS).   After that, all you need for Rockbox is the .rockbox folder (which you can download and copy manually), and a copy of the GBSYSTEM folder - you can also find this on the wiki, if you don't have a copy.  I'm not sure if the auto installer will work against a drive setup this way, but you can certain try it.
