Title: Gigabeat MEGF10 installation with compact flash card
Post by: hedbergfan on August 16, 2010, 03:36:33 AM
I purchased my gigabeat a few years back and the hard drive broke on it. I just recently saw a video on youtube of someone who had a compact flash card in their Gigabeat and was using Rockbox. So I decided to do the same. First, windows would not recognize the gigabeat and I could not access it. So I tried plugging just the card into the computer and installing rockbox that way. I was able to access it but it still reads system error. I have installed the bootloader as well. I've been looking all over the web for answers and none of them seem to work. I've tried the whole turn it on, wait for system error, connect the hdd, and windows still cannot access it. It says the installation failed it claims the device "Has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify it's compatibility with Windows XP" It still gives me the option to continue anyway, but shortly after it still says installation failed it says the device cannot start. If anyone has any questions or solutions it would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure most of this post makes no sense. But thank you in advance.
